Artist – Transform A Life
The Dance Theatre of Harlem School is thrilled to launch
an exciting new program that will give our closest friends and patrons
a personal and intimate experience with our school. The Support
A Young Artist program provides those students who dream of a
life in the performing arts with a sponsor who will give them the opportunity
to make their dream a reality.
DTH Facts:
While our tuition remains low compared to other professional studio schools, there are still many families who cannot afford the tuition.
Over half of our students receive more than $340,000
in scholarships or tuition assistance each year.
DTH students use more than 700 pairs of pointe shoes in a year.
At an average price of $65 per pair, annual costs for
pointe shoes exceed $45,000.
There are three ways to participate in the Support A Young Artist Program; please find below a brief description and a link to a contribution\pledge form in Adobe PDF format.
Pointe Shoe Fund
The Pointe Shoe Fund helps raise money to provide pointe shoes for students on scholarship or for those who simply cannot afford them. Pointe shoes can cost $65 or more each, and our students go through hundreds of them each year. We accept contributions of any level to this fund.

Emerging Artist Partner: $10,000
Invest in the development of some of America’s most talented aspiring dance artists. Dance Theatre of Harlem selects the best of the Professional Training Program students for its Dancing Through Barrier’s Ensemble® - the performing arm of our education and outreach program. As an Emerging Artist Partner, you will:
• Be
partnered with a Professional Training Program student whose progress
you are encouraged to follow.
• Receive a photograph and a biography of your young artist.
• Receive invitations to join your young artist for two special
events a year.
• Be invited to previews of New Works.
• Receive a free Dance Theatre of Harlem membership for one year
• Be acknowledged in newsletters, in Open House Series programs
and on DTH’s website as an Emerging Artist Partner.

Angel Fund Sponsor: $2,500 - $5,000
Help sponsor tuition, fees and expenses for students in the Community and Pre-Professional Programs. Student support can also help cover the cost of ballet slippers, leotards, tights, dance belts, Pointe shoes and other materials if a student cannot afford them. Angel Fund Sponsors will:
• Receive a free Dance Theatre of Harlem membership for one year.
• Be invited to a special reception to “Meet the Students” and their families
• Be recognized in printed programs as a Angel Fund Sponsor
• Receive one signed pointe shoe
• Be invited to the dress rehearsal for the Annual Spring Celebration
• Be acknowledged in newsletters, in Open House Series programs and on DTH’s website as an Angel Fund Sponsor.
