| Winter Session 2007-2008 PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM The Professional Training Program is a certificate program, to be completed within a minimum of 3 years, for aspiring professional dancers exclusively. Students must have prior training and a high school diploma, or its equivalent. Admission is by audition only and a full time commitment is necessary. Female students must exhibit proficiency in pointe. This intensive course of study includes instruction in classical ballet technique, pointe/men’s, pas de deux, variations, character, ethnic dance, modern/character, tap, workshops/master classes and academic classes in dance history, music and anatomy. (Not all courses are offered each semester). Students must earn a minimum of 133 credits and meet the requirements for a minimum of 2 years. The credit system is based on a 32-week Winter Session and an 6-week Summer Intensive Session. Students are eligible to apply for Federal Financial Aid or DTHS Tuition Assistance.
