Celebrating the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of
The South African Tour

Sunday November 12, 2017

Join Dance Theatre of Harlem in celebrating the 25th Anniversary of its historic tour to South Africa. At the invitation of Nelson Mandela and with a crumbling apartheid system looming in the background, Arthur Mitchell created a touring program that prioritized engaging with all races and breaking down barriers through dance. Experience performances by the Dance Theatre of Harlem company and school, the sharing of stories from that tour by DTH alumni and presentations by other Special Guest Artists in honor of this ground breaking moment in American Dance History!
