Young ladies should bring:

  •         Flesh toned soft ballet slippers that match the student’s tights as closely as possible.
  •         Flesh toned pointe shoes for dancers performing en pointe.
  •         Hair tools/products and a head scarf to maintain a neat bun. Buns should be placed in the middle of the head, not too high or too low. Bun nets are highly recommended.
  •         Water, a light snack and a quiet pastime such as a book. DTH does not recommend bringing any electronics or valuables to the theatre. DTH will not be responsible for any lost items. Crafts, coloring and storytelling will be provided for Tendu program students.
  •         All students should wear/bring their DTH uniform leotard and warm-up clothes such as sweatpants and a warm top to all rehearsals and performances.

Young men should bring:

  •         One complete DTH uniform which includes clean black tights or leggings, a clean white dance tee, clean white ballet slippers.
  •         Hair should be neat. Young men with long hair should secure their hair back and away from the face for all rehearsals and performances.

  •         For levels 1-7AP and Teens, dance bags should also contain a dance belt and warm up clothes such as sweatpants and a warm top.

Dismissal Procedures

Rehearsals

On Wednesday May 17th and Friday, May 19th students will be dismissed from inside the Marion Anderson Theatre at ADH, where our performances will be held. Parents will be invited into the theater after rehearsal at 8:30pm where they may have a seat and wait for their child’s class to be brought onstage. We ask that parents remain seated until their student’s class is dismissed, at which time you may approach the stage, sign out and pick up your student.  On Thursday, May 18th parents will wait in the lobby until their student’s class is dismissed. This is due to another performance taking place at ADH that day.

Performances

On Saturday May 20th, one family member will be asked to remain seated after each performance for dismissal. Students will be brought to the stage for dismissal according to Wednesday 5/17 and Friday 5/19 procedure. Students who are dancing in both shows will not be dismissed after the 2pm performance unless school staff has been previously notified by a parent to do so.

We thank you in advance for your patience and support as we work to prepare our students for two successful performances!

See you all at the theatre!
