Act 2:
The Garden of Paradise
An adaptation by Endalyn Taylor of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Garden of Paradise”
The ballet tells the story of a young prince who goes off in search of the Tree of Knowledge. The Prince endures hardships and adventures with the Four Winds, assorted birds, plants and animals and meets a beautiful Princess. Through it all he learns the power of knowledge, to value the earth and discovers in himself the strength to resist temptation.
Curtain times are 2:00 and 7:00 pm.
About the Annual Spring Performance
The annual Spring Performances are held each May at Aaron Davis Hall on the campus of City College in Harlem. This much anticipated event culminates the student’s accomplishment over the year and provides an inspiring opportunity for them to perform in a professional theater complete with costumes and lights!
Original choreography is commissioned for these performances which are open to family members and the general public.
