Partners En Pointe – Leadership Council

Purpose
Partners En Pointe is a dynamic group of young professionals who share a passionate commitment for Dance Theatre of Harlem’s (DTH) work.  Partners work closely with DTH staff and board members to formulate and pursue fun and creative strategies for engaging young professionals under 40 in the life of Dance Theatre.  The Partners will take on special projects, host fundraising and networking events, and serve as enthusiastic ambassadors and spokespersons for the institution. 

Membership
Membership is by invitation only by a board member and staff person.  There shall be no more than 25 members on the leadership council.

Terms of Service
Partners serve two year terms, no more than three consecutive terms.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Partners will, at a minimum, carry out the following duties:

  • Build a strong base of patrons and supporters between the ages of 25 – 40.
  • Undertake special projects and social events under the guidance and supervision of DTH staff.
  • Identify sources of funding and in-kind support and help shepherd the acquisition of that support.
  • Serve as ambassadors/spokespersons for Dance Theatre of Harlem and its mission.
  • Alert the organization to information and opportunities that can foster DTH’s mission.

Attendance
There will be no fewer than four meetings per year, and no more than nine.  The time and place for meetings have yet to be determined.

 

Volunteers

DTH always needs volunteers on a short or long-term basis to assist with a variety of projects and activities.   If you can spare some time during the week or on weekends, we can certainly use the help. Current openings include:

• Reception Attendant  (2 hours during lunch time)
• Adult Hall Monitors  (Weekdays 4pm – 7pm), (Saturdays 9:30am – 1:30pm
• Seamstress/Stichers
• Graphic Artists
• Social Networking Pro – (eg. Facebook, MySpace)
• File Clerk
• DTH Archives Assistant
• DTH Alumni Research Assistant
• Boutique Clerk
• Ushers
• Annual Spring Performance Helper (May)
• Annual Street Festival Helper (August)
• Newsletter Editor
• Marketing & Publicity Assistant
