About the Intensive

If you would like a Dance Theatre of Harlem experience, and are in the Midwest, our first ever Kansas City Intensive is for you! Geared toward Advanced and Advanced Intermediate Professional and Pre-professional dancers, this Intensive will have as its central theme the styles and works of 21st Century Contemporary Masters.
For Summer 2019, alongside our traditional ballet training, the intensive will feature workshops in the style of Alonzo King, founder and Artistic Director of Alonzo King Lines Ballet. Representing Mr. King will be Caroline Rocher, Former Dance Theatre of Harlem and Lines Ballet principal dancer. Guest teachers also include Charmaine Hunter, (Former Principal dancer, Dance Theatre of Harlem), Antonio Douthit, (Former Principal dancer, Dance Theatre of Harlem and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater), and others.

Housing: $1200 (which includes a shared dorm room at the Kansas City Art Institute; three meals each day; transportation to and from Kansas Ballet studios; and activities)
