Divine Nine/HBCU Night: 2024 New York Season
Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) and the DTH Divine Nine/HBCU Advisory Committee in partnership with the National Pan-Hellenic Council of New York City and Howard University Alumni Club of Greater New York City are thrilled to invite members of the Divine Nine and HBCU alumni, faculty, and students to a special performance of Dance Theatre of Harlem: Divine Nine/HBCU Night on Saturday, April 13th at 7:30pm at New York City Center, 131 West 55th Street, between Sixth and Seventh avenues. Doors open at 6:30pm and the celebration begins with a pre-performance Dance Party with Superhero DJ Jon Quick – 94.7 The Block, member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
The evening includes dynamic performances by the Dance Theatre of Harlem Company featuring for one night only, newly appointed Artistic Director Robert Garland’s enduring hit, Return, set to the music of Aretha Franklin, Honorary Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and James Brown. Immediately following the performance is a post-show conversation with Robert Garland. The dance party continues after the conversation.
This evening provides a unique opportunity for Dance Theatre of Harlem, members of the Divine Nine, along with HBCU alumni, faculty, and students to celebrate our collective history and culture. Please wear paraphernalia or colors representing your organization/institution. We look forward to seeing you at theater!
